Das Land, auf dem die Stadt Glastonbury steht, war einmal eine Insel - gelegen im Sumpfland und durch Flußläufe mit dem Meer verbunden... Heute sind die Moore trockengelegt, aber es gibt immer noch viele Überschwemmungen und Nebel ist eine übliche Erscheinung. Gelegentlich erhebt sich der Tor aus den Nebeln wie ein Leuchtturm aus einer anderen Welt, gebadet in Sonnenlicht. Aus der Entfernung betrachtet ist der Tor eine geologische Abnormität mit einer faszinierenden Form und "Ausstrahlung"...
Er ist nicht nur irgendein Hügel auf einer Insel. Es ist, als wenn Glastonbury eine ganz eigene Welt sei, eine "Realitäts- Blase", abgesondert von der umgebenden Landschaft. Auf dieser Insel haben seit tausenden von Jahren ungewöhnliche Menschen gelebt. Sie ist ein globales Energie - Zentrum ...
Der Turm auf der Spitze des Tor ist das, was übriggeblieben ist von einer kleinen Kirche, die einmal dort gestanden hat. Der größte Teil wurde in einem Erdbeben im Mittelalter zerstört! Bei klarem Wetter kann man 60 Meilen weit sehen. Aber die Aussicht ist nicht alles! - Der Tor ist ein Energie- Ort. Nach einem Besuch dort oben kommen die Leute verändert wieder herunter, ob sie sich nun dessen bewußt sein mögen oder nicht... Der Tor ist traditionell der Eingang zur Unterwelt - Annwn. Der König der Feen, Gwyn ap Nydd, lebt dort. Manchmal in dunklen Nächten tollt er in wildem Gedränge mit seinem Feenvolk über die Landschaft hinweg.
Glastonbury is on what once used to be an island - amongst wetlands with river access to the sea. Nowadays it is surrounded by flat, drained peaty 'Moors' or 'Levels' with a high water table ... However, because the levels are damp, mists and fogs are common - on occasions the Tor rises out of the mist like an otherwordly beacon, bathed in sunlight. Seen from the distance, the Tor is a geological anomaly with a fascinating shape and 'emanation'...
It isn't just a hill on an island. It's as if Glastonbury constitutes a world of its own, a reality-bubble distinct from the surrounding landscape. On this island, unusual people have lived for thousands of years. It's a global energy-centre ...
The tower atop the Tor is what remains of a small church which stood there. Most of it was shaken down in an earthquake in medieval times! ... When it's clear you can see for 60 miles. However, it's not just a good view. It's an energy-place. After a visit to the top, whether they're aware of it or not, people come away changed ... The Tor is traditionally the entrance to the underworld - Annwn. The King of the Fairies, Gwyn ap Nydd, lives there. Occasionally, of a dark night, he and his wild throng of fairyfolk go on a rampage round the landscape ...
